About The Position

Rowan’s Piercing Studio Nurse provides safe, clean, and joyful ear-piercing services, applying nursing skills and expertise to perform piercings with care and precision. The role combines clinical care, infection prevention, customer education, and a celebratory customer experience. The Piercing Studio Nurse reports to the Studio Manager and works with the studio team to support smooth operations and Rowan’s clinical standards.

The nurse guides customers through the piercing experience, evaluates ears for placement, offers styling advice, explains aftercare, and helps customers feel comfortable and confident. The role also involves maintaining a sterile environment, sterilizing jewelry and instruments, keeping stations stocked, following applicable health and safety guidelines, supporting studio metrics and sales, and communicating operational concerns to management. Nurses may mentor and train new nurses. Flexible shift coverage may be needed.

Requirements

• Active RN or LPN/LVN license.
• Professional and engaging approach to customer care.

Responsibilities

• Provide a memorable customer experience combining clinical care with a celebratory atmosphere.
• Ensure customers’ safety and comfort and maintain a smooth flow of care.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients throughout the piercing experience.
• Help customers feel comfortable and address their concerns.
• Educate customers on aftercare and Rowan After Care to support healing and well-being.
• Evaluate ears to determine suitable earring placement and provide personalized styling advice.
• Monitor customer experience and promptly address issues to maintain Rowan’s clinical piercing standards.
• Maintain a sterile and aseptic nurse station and procedure tray; clean and sanitize surfaces, instruments, and supplies.
• Use knowledge of skin care and infection control and prevention to provide personalized piercing services.
• Collaborate with the Studio Manager to support smooth studio operations and a joyful atmosphere.
• Fill shifts as needed and maintain schedule flexibility.
• May mentor and train new nurses, including shadowing piercing services and observing customer interactions.
• Monitor for issues that could affect the customer experience, report them to management, and collaborate on solutions.
• Keep piercing stations, including the nurse cart, mayo stand, and nurse nook, stocked and ready for customer needs.
• Sterilize jewelry and needle-piercing instruments.
• Follow state, federal, and CDC guidelines to maintain sanitary and safe services.
• Support studio metrics, including revenue growth, piercing-service efficiency, average order value, and sales.
• Explain the benefits of Rowan After Care and additional hypoallergenic, non-piercing jewelry to support healing.
• Promptly address and escalate operational concerns and communicate clearly with management and team members.
