About The Position

Fastenal is hiring a full-time Picking Lead for its distribution center in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Picking Lead oversees the day-to-day operations of the Picking department, providing guidance so work is completed correctly, efficiently, and on time. Duties include picking requested quantities for branch orders, packing products, printing routing labels, and sending products to Sortation. The role involves leading and training team members and performing warehouse tasks in a fast-paced environment. A flexible schedule may be available after onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old.
Have proficient written and oral communication skills.
Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Be able to lead and motivate a team of employees.
Be able to work independently and in a team environment.
Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
Be highly motivated, self-directed, and customer service oriented.
Demonstrate strong problem-solving, deductive reasoning, and decision-making skills.
Be able to learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Be willing to work a flexible schedule and extra time as needed.
Demonstrate the company’s core values of ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork.
Be able to lift, slide, carry, and lower packages typically weighing 25–50 pounds and potentially up to 100 pounds.
Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam only).
