About The Position

As a member of Walden Local’s Fulfillment team, the Picker Packer helps connect families with local farmers by preparing monthly deliveries of pre-packaged, grass-fed and pasture-raised meat. The role works with a four-person team on a socially distanced pick-and-pack line in a refrigerated packing room maintained at 40–45°F. It offers warehouse operations training and experience for people interested in inventory, warehouse, or supply chain careers, with potential internal advancement opportunities as the company grows.

Responsibilities

• Work on a team-based packing line in a refrigerated packing room maintained at 40–45°F while wearing assigned protective equipment.
• Follow an electronic pick sheet to select pre-packaged meat cuts for packing.
• Neatly pack items into reusable coolers.
• Perform regular quality checks to help ensure members receive high-quality deliveries.
• Assist with general warehouse maintenance to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Use good judgment and attention to detail when problems arise.
• Cross-train within the team and with other departments to develop skills and progress a career.
