About The Position

The PIC directs and coordinates store operations activities in the absence of the Store Director, Assistant Store Director, or other management. The role supports efficient and economical operations and ensures associates’ work shifts contribute to the store’s financial interests. The PIC also completes other duties as assigned in a timely manner. The position may involve operating the cashier register and courtesy counter, addressing customer concerns, inspecting store areas, providing feedback to department managers, maintaining time clocks when designated management is absent, and closing and securing the store. The PIC helps customers locate products, maintains a clean, attractive, well-stocked store, and may perform tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs. The work takes place in a retail store environment with varied temperatures and exposure to outside weather conditions. Noise is usually low to moderate, and travel requirements vary by assignment.

Requirements

Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
Basic mathematical skills.
Suggestive selling and product knowledge.
Attention to detail.
May be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and to bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma preferred.
One year of retail or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor associates’ adherence to company policies.
Operate the cashier register and courtesy counter desk and handle customer concerns efficiently.
Understand the store layout and the locations of safety and emergency equipment.
Conduct regular inspections of all areas and provide feedback to department managers.
Maintain the time clock in the absence of the Store Director or specified department manager.
May close and secure the store, including locking doors, turning off lights, and arming the store.
Know product locations in the store to assist customers.
Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-stocked store.
Follow PPE and safety guidelines.
Follow food safety and cleaning expectations.
Follow guest experience guidelines.
Perform tasks in other departments as assigned based on customer experience needs.
Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.
