About The Position
Music & Arts is seeking a piano teacher to teach and inspire students in private lessons. The teacher will create an engaging, supportive, and safe learning environment for students of varied ages and skill levels. The role includes building positive relationships with students and parents through regular communication, goal-setting, and progress updates; partnering with store teams to schedule lessons and support student retention; and sharing musical expertise to foster students’ growth. Music & Arts handles administrative work so instructors can focus on teaching. The listed pay is $12.77 per hour for non-teaching work, plus a teaching rate of $10–$23 per hour depending on background and experience. Compensation may vary by location and individual experience, education, and other factors. Music & Arts also offers musicians gig leave, allowing them to take time off to perform or tour and return to their job afterward.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or equivalent experience.
- Two years of music teaching experience, especially on piano.
Nice To Haves
- Further teaching experience on related instruments.
- Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctoral) in Music.
- Professional teaching memberships or certifications.
- Eight or more years of teaching experience, especially with multiple instruments.
