About The Position

As a Music Teacher, you will teach music lessons to students according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. You will help increase and retain student enrollment while supporting each student's growth, development, and enjoyment of playing music. The role also contributes to a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect, and calls for a Customer First mindset and excellent customer experiences. You will partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students based on community needs, assist with customer service as needed, and build lasting student relationships. You will communicate frequently with students and families about progress and goals, and work with parents as partners in their child's music education. The listed pay is $15.00–$18.00 per hour for the non-teaching rate and up to $23.95 per hour total teaching rate, depending on background and experience. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, and other factors, and pay ranges may differ by location.

Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as piano/keyboard, drums, or guitar.
Demonstrated competency and proficiency in the instrument or area being taught.

Responsibilities

Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term student relationships by creating a great experience.
Communicate frequently with students and families to build trusting relationships and recognize parents' knowledge of their child's music education.
Share each student's goals and progress frequently with the student and/or their parents.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
