About The Position
As a Music Teacher at Guitar Center, you will teach music lessons to students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. You will help grow and retain student enrollment while supporting each student’s musical development and enjoyment. The role also includes creating a positive customer experience and contributing to a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. You will partner with students and families through frequent communication, build trusting relationships, and share student progress and goals. Pay is listed as $16.50–$20.34 per hour for non-teaching time and up to $30.14 per hour total teaching rate, depending on background and experience; actual compensation may vary.
Requirements
- Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
- Ability to teach an instrument in which the applicant is proficient.
- Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area they will teach.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
- Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
- Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term students by creating a great experience.
- Communicate frequently with students and families, build trusting relationships, and recognize parents’ knowledge of their child as a music teacher.
- Share students’ goals and progress frequently with students and/or their parents.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
