About The Position

Reporting to the Program Manager of the Medical-Surgical and Heart Health department within the Rehabilitation and Supportive Care Services portfolio, the Physiotherapist is a member of a clinical team and collaborates with colleagues to determine team goals and objectives, participates in the evaluation of team effectiveness, solves problems, and shares responsibilities. The physiotherapist assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients in a tertiary care setting who present with actual or potential impairments, pain, functional limitations, or disabilities. The physiotherapist educates and communicates with other health disciplines, the public, family members, and caregivers regarding health promotion, physiotherapy treatment, and pain management. The physiotherapist provides supervision and evaluation of physiotherapy students, and supervision of physiotherapy assistants and aides.

Requirements

  • Masters's degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy from an accredited university
  • Membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists
  • Current BCLS certification
  • Thorough knowledge of Physiotherapy practice
  • Demonstrated accountability

Responsibilities
