About The Position

Reporting to the Program Manager of Neurology and Spinal Cord Injury, the Physiotherapist is a member of a clinical team and collaborates with colleagues to determine team goals and objectives, participates in the evaluation of team effectiveness, solves problems, and shares responsibilities. The physiotherapist assesses, diagnoses and treats patients in a tertiary care inpatient setting who present with actual or potential impairments, pain, functional limitations or disabilities. The physiotherapist educates and communicates with other health disciplines, the general public, family members, patients and caregivers with regard to health promotion, physiotherapy treatment and management of acquired brain injury. The physiotherapist provides supervision and evaluation of physiotherapy students, and supervision of physiotherapy assistants and aides.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy from an accredited university
  • Membership with the Nova Scotia Regulator of Physiotherapy (Provincial licensing body)
  • Maintains current certification in CPR
  • Thorough knowledge of Physiotherapy practice

Responsibilities
