About The Position

The healthcare facility is seeking multiple physicians to provide urgent inpatient, hospital-based obstetrics and gynecology coverage on the specified dates: 11/3, 11/10, 11/19, 12/1, 12/2, 12/29, and 12/31. The purpose of the coverage is to provide 24-hour call coverage for the hospital. Shifts run from 7 AM to 7 AM, and some shifts are supported by a midwife as the primary call. Weekend coverage and on-call coverage are mandatory. Call may be in-house, by beeper/phone, or through Tigertext; average call-back hours vary, typically from 0 to 15. Multiple providers may be considered to fulfill the schedule.

Care is entirely inpatient and involves adult patients, with an average daily hospital census of 0–12 patients. The position requires emergency obstetric and gynecologic surgical procedures, triage evaluations, labor and delivery management, and recovery and postpartum care. Teaching responsibilities are not required. The facility uses Meditech. Credentialing time depends on how promptly the physician submits the necessary documentation.

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Availability for all specified coverage dates without exception.
• Clean malpractice history for temporary license acquisition.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• DEA licensure.

• Active Virginia state medical license.
