The Physician will conduct a program of primary medical care, providing examination, diagnosis, and treatment for CVHS patients. This role involves providing medical treatment and advice, obtaining patient history, and interpreting diagnostic tests. The physician will diagnose ailments, perform minor surgical procedures, and manage follow-up care. Referrals to other health services will be made when necessary. The position also includes prescribing or dispensing medication, seeking consultation from senior physicians, and providing medical supervision to assigned health professionals. Additionally, the physician will lead and support clinical staff in a team-based, patient-centered medical practice model, assist other health professionals, and participate in Quality Assurance Programs. Adherence to CVHS Bylaws, Principles of Practice, and maintaining high standards of personal and professional behavior are expected. A commitment to continuing professional education is required to maintain medical knowledge and competence. The role involves after-hours, weekend, and holiday coverage, including phone consultations or on-site visits. Timely documentation, coding, and billing into the electronic health record (eCW) are essential, along with adherence to CVHS security protocols. Participation in relevant committees and attending work as scheduled are also required. The Physician will perform other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director and/or Regional Medical Officer.
