About The Position

The Division of Acute Care at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital (HDVCH) is seeking a physician leader to serve as Section Chief for Newborn Services and Affiliate Pediatric Hospital Medicine. This role provides clinical, operational, and strategic leadership for Newborn Services across Corewell Health West, including Butterworth Hospital and regional nurseries, as well as Pediatric Hospital Medicine services at affiliated community hospitals. The Section Chief will work collaboratively with APP leadership, operational leaders, and physician partners to support staffing, quality, program development, and the delivery of exceptional patient care across the network. This busy program manages more than 10,000 newborns each year. Applicants should demonstrate a record of clinical excellence in Pediatric Hospital Medicine and Newborn Medicine, skill in delivery room management and neonatal resuscitation, and collaborative approach to working with and leading a multidisciplinary team. This position will be based out of Helen DeVos Children's Hospital and Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI. Work includes leadership oversight and possibly intermittent clinical work at affiliated regional and community hospitals. Academic appointment at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine.

Requirements

  • Medical Degree (MD or DO)
  • Board-eligible/board-certified in General Pediatrics required
  • NRP (resuscitation) certification
  • BLS certification
  • PALS certification

Nice To Haves

  • BE/BC in Pediatric Hospital Medicine preferred but not required
