About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is seeking a BC/BE fellowship-trained General Orthopedic Surgeon to join their well-established team in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The practice is part of Marshfield Medical Center – Eau Claire. The orthopedic team includes specialists in Spine, Hand, Foot & Ankle, Sports Medicine, Shoulder Elbow, Pediatrics, and Total Joint. The organization encourages physician involvement in medical education and research. The core privileges for this role include performing history and physical examinations, admitting, evaluating, diagnosing, and providing pre-, intra-, and postoperative care for patients of all ages, as well as performing orthopedic surgical procedures, except where specifically excluded from practice.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree
  • BC/BE fellowship-trained General Orthopedic Surgeon
  • Demonstrate at least 200 orthopedic surgery procedures in the last 24 months (either through residency/fellowship log or quality profile from hospital(s) with privileges)
  • Successful completion of a hospital-affiliated orthopedic surgical residency program or a clinical Fellowship of at least five years’ duration accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada in the residency.
  • Certification by the appropriate specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
  • For those applicants that are not board certified at the time of application, but who have completed their residency training within the last five years; must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless appropriate governing Board waives such requirement.

Nice To Haves

  • Training at residency programs accredited by organizations other than ACGME, AOA, or Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada may be considered by the Credentials Committee; Physician Executive or Medical Affairs Committee; and the Board of Directors or the Board of Governors.
