About The Position

ERP International, LLC is seeking a full-time Physician - Orthopedic Foot/Ankle Surgeon to support Naval Medical Center San Diego. This role offers a $20,000 sign-on bonus and is an opportunity to provide care for Military Members, their Families, and Retired Military Veterans. Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association; Association of American Medical Colleges; Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
  • For foreign medical school graduates: education and medical knowledge equivalent to accredited schools in the United States, demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, a fifth pathway certificate, or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination.
  • Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
  • At least one year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting (internship or first year of residency) in a hospital or accredited institution.
  • Successfully completed the required accredited residency training in Orthopedic Surgery.
  • Successfully completed the required fellowship training in Foot and Ankle.
  • Successfully completed the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery Board certification and maintain board certification status.
  • Current AHA OR ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification, ACLS, and PALS.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a full range of physician services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF.
  • Direct, perform, or assist in the instruction of other health care professionals within the scope of the clinical privileges or responsibilities.
  • Examine, diagnose, treat or prescribe courses of treatment within the scope of training, experience, and privileges.
  • Provide preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling.
  • Order diagnostic tests as applicable as well as request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated.
  • Technically proficient in directing and teaching other medical staff, providing educational lectures and participating in the provision of in-service training to clinic staff members.
  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including detailed medical histories, physical examinations, and the ordering and interpretation of diagnostic imaging such as X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs.
  • Develop and oversee non-surgical treatment plans for a wide array of foot and ankle conditions.
  • Manage all phases of surgical care, from initial pre-operative assessments and patient education to post-operative follow-up, wound care, and rehabilitation protocols.
  • Treat a wide range of patients, from young, active-duty athletic personnel with sports-related injuries to older, retired veterans with degenerative conditions, including pediatric patients.
  • Perform a full spectrum of foot and ankle surgeries, including fracture fixation and trauma reconstruction, arthroscopic procedures, total ankle replacements, tendon and ligament repair, and correction of complex foot and ankle deformities.
  • Manage complex, high-energy trauma, and severe extremity injuries.
  • Participate in complex limb salvage procedures, potentially collaborating with other surgical subspecialties.
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records for all patient encounters and surgical procedures.
  • Participate in the education and training of residents, medical students, and other medical personnel.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide urgent/emergent orthopedic care to all Tricare beneficiaries.
  • Provide clinical guidance to residents, evaluate and manage orthopedic consultants, respond to urgent and emergent orthopedic conditions, and perform operative interventions.
  • Contribute to the operational readiness of active-duty service members by providing timely and effective care.
  • Participate in clinical and basic science research.
  • Maintain CME for the purpose of licensure and American Board of Orthopedic Surgery certification.
