About The Position
Seeking an Orthopedic Surgeon for a Locum Tenens position in Poplar Bluff, MO. This is an inpatient role covering supplemental needs on an ongoing basis. The position is call-only with a 30-minute response time, utilizing a beeper system. The call ratio is 1:2 with an estimated 10% callback rate. Patient volume is approximately 10, with 4 admissions. Rounding is included for unassigned patients. The support staff includes 2 RNs. The facility has 11 OR rooms and uses Cerner EMR. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered.
Requirements
- Active MO License
- BE/BC in Orthopedic Surgery
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
Responsibilities
- Provide orthopedic surgery services on a call-only basis.
- Respond to calls within 30 minutes.
- Manage unassigned patients during rounding.
- Admit and treat patients as needed.
- Collaborate with support staff (2 RNs).
