About The Position

Geisinger Healthplex Woodbine has an opening for a retina medical and/or surgical specialist to join their well-established practice with multi-specialty Ophthalmologists and Optometrists. This role offers opportunities to develop a program, perform research, and teach residents in a large, tertiary referral center. Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
• Licensed Medical Doctor - State of Pennsylvania
• Patient Care And Procedural Skills
• Professional Etiquette
• Systems-Based Practice

Responsibilities

• Mentor and teach in a growing ophthalmology residency program.
• Utilize extensive diagnosis/treatment tools including OCT/OCAT/ fluorescein and ICG angiography, widefield imaging, echogrpahy, and photodynamic therapy.
• Work in Geisinger owned surgical facilities on the main campus and a nearby outpatient surgery center.
• Collaborate with Advance Practitioners.
• See patients in clinics with over 50 exam rooms.
• Participate in shared call (home call).
• Serve a large referral base from onsite Optometrists, local Ophthalmologists, and physicians in satellite offices.
• Participate in teaching, research, and optimizing access for patients.
• Utilize a fully integrated electronic health record (Epic).
• Receive support and leadership from a full range of dedicated, experienced specialists & subspecialists.
• Engage in professional opportunities for mentorship, growth, and advancement.
