About The Position

Central Health is seeking a skilled neurologist to join their expanding team and provide care to the underserved community in Travis County. This full-time outpatient clinical role involves direct patient care, including consultations, overseeing and interpreting EEGs/EMGs, and completing e-consults and e-reviews. The neurologist will also contribute to designing clinical workflows to improve access to care, support evidence-based practice, and enhance efficiency. This position serves as an attending for learners and may supervise advanced practice providers. The role emphasizes collaboration within a multidisciplinary team to improve patient quality of life.

Requirements

  • M.D or D.O degree with Board Certification (or Board Eligibility if within 2 years of residency) in Internal Medicine and Neurology
  • 2 years of clinical experience.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years of clinical experience with 2 years of leadership/mentorship experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs neurology consultations, EEG/EMG procedures, e-consults, and e-reviews in an outpatient clinic setting.
  • Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on the patient’s condition.
  • Diagnoses and treats diseases, disorders, and injuries based on the patient’s medical history and physical assessment results.
  • Prescribes medications and referrals for treatment and preventative care.
  • Instructs patients and their families regarding procedures performed, home care, and follow-up visits.
  • Directs and supervises advanced practice providers as needed.
  • Helps design clinical workflows to improve access to care, support evidence-based practice, and improve efficiency.
  • Actively communicates with others in a clear, understandable, and professional manner in person and on the phone.
  • Collaborates with Central Health's operations and clinical leaders to ensure a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrates professional management skills, including planning, organizing, and scheduling work efficiently and productively.
  • Actively interacts with peers, executives, employees, and consultants in a manner that represents Central Health positively.
  • Offers strong decision-making skills, especially in clinical matters.
  • Contributes to yearly assessments of team members with guidance from the Practice Leader.
  • Plans, promotes, demonstrates, recommends, and coordinates high standards of medical practice.
