About The Position

Sanford Clinic Neurology is seeking a BC/BE Neurologist who is fellowship trained in MS/Neuroimmunology. The role involves joining a group of 13 neurologists and 5 advanced practice clinicians with a focus on general neurology and subspecialties. The Sanford Neurology group serves as principal faculty for the Sanford USD School of Medicine, and the health system is launching a Neurology Residency program in Summer 2023. This is an outpatient practice only, as dedicated neuro-hospitalists and stroke specialists handle inpatient coverage. Sanford Neurology is certified Thrombectomy Capable stroke through Joint Commission.

Requirements

M.D. or D.O. degree.
Fellowship trained in MS/Neuroimmunology.
BC/BE Neurologist.
Successful completion of a Neurology residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/ subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
Applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement.
Demonstrate active involvement of inpatient services to be at least 50 patients in the last 12 months (if providing a quality profile from hospital).
Demonstrate active involvement in the care of 50 patients in clinical practice in the last 12 months (if providing clinic activity documentation).

Nice To Haves

Training at residency programs accredited by organizations other than ACGME, AOA, or Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada may be considered via the waiver of eligibility process.

Responsibilities

Perform history and physical examination.
Admit patients (if applicable to the setting).
Provide consultative services.
Evaluate, diagnose, and provide nonsurgical care to patients of all ages presenting with illnesses, injuries, and disorders of the neurologic system.
