About The Position

This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated physician to join an employed position within a busy, well-respected practice, supported by a strong referral base and the full resources of a robust health system network. Join an established team of physicians and APPs. Practice setting: Inpatient neurohospitalist service. Access to state of the art patient rooms and facilities; certified stroke program, outstanding surgical support with robotic surgery capability. Employed position within a nonprofit health system. Board Certified or Board Eligible in neurology. Eligible for state medical licensure and DEA registration.

Requirements

Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in neurology
Eligible for state medical licensure and DEA registration

Responsibilities

Provide medical services to patients in an assigned area.
Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinate discharge planning with case management.
Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
Accept patient referrals from other physicians. Act as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
Participate in academic programs (eg medical education and research) as requested.
Provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.
