About The Position

Bronson Healthcare is seeking a BC/BE Medical Oncologist/Hematologist to join its growing cancer program in Battle Creek, Michigan. This position will practice in Battle Creek, MI at the Bronson Battle Creek Cancer Care Center. The candidate will join a practice consisting of 3 other Medical Oncologists/Hematologists, 2 Radiation Oncologists, 1 advanced practice provider, and multiple other clinical staff providing nurse navigation, survivorship, social work, nutritional support, and palliative care. This is a hospital-employed, mainly outpatient position with some inpatient consults. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with call shared equally among the physicians in the team. Bronson Battle Creek Cancer Center is accredited by the Commission on Cancer and the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) through the American College of Surgeons. It ranks among the top cancer care facilities in the United States and is one of only 25 hospitals to win the Commission on Cancer Outstanding Achievement Award three times in a row. The center provides access to the newest treatments, actively participates in clinical trials with the Grand Rapids Clinical Oncology Program (GRCOP), and offers advanced radiation therapies and technologies. It provides a full range of care from prevention to detection and treatment, with tumor boards for various cancer sites. Bronson Battle Creek Hospital was the first hospital in southwest Michigan to use Positron Emission Tomography (PET) for tumor detection and staging information and has accreditation by The Joint Commission. Requirements

BC/BE Fellowship Trained in Hematology/Oncology
Current unrestricted or pending Licensure in the state of Michigan
Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

Diagnosing illnesses and prescribing and administering treatment for patients suffering from disease or illness.
Examining patients and obtaining medical histories.
Ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests.
Counseling patients regarding preventive healthcare, hygiene, and diet.
Providing compassionate and quality patient-centered care.
