About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is seeking a BC/BE Internal Medicine physician to join a thriving practice in Menomonie, Wisconsin. This is a busy 100% outpatient clinic practice where you will work with an experienced APP and support staff. The practice offers a flexible 4-day work week, and call is managed within a large call group averaging 2 weeks of call annually, with a nurse line as the first point of contact. The position emphasizes excellent work-life balance, with support for job sharing. Physicians are encouraged to be involved in medical education and research to contribute to the strong foundation of patient care, research, and education.

Requirements

M.D. or D.O. degree.
Successful completion of an Internal Medicine residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/ subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
Applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement.
An applicant who has just completed residency shall provide their residency procedure log and a list of completed rotations, as applicable.
An applicant who is not applying directly out of a residency shall provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing his/her clinical activity for the last 12 months, to include number of procedures performed-morbidity, mortality, infection rates and other complications.
The applicant must be able to demonstrate active involvement of inpatient services to be at least 50 patients in the last 12 months.
If a quality profile is not available from the hospital(s) where the applicant currently has privileges, documentation of the applicant’s clinic activity for the last 12 months is required.
The applicant must be able to demonstrate active involvement in the care of 50 patients in clinical practice in the last 12 months.
More education and experience may be required the more advanced the practice becomes.
Training at residency programs accredited by organizations other than the ACGME, AOA or Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, may be considered via the waiver of eligibility process as defined in the Credentialing Policy.
Privileging documents and related credentialing requirements will supersede this job description in defining minimum qualifications, criteria, and scope of practice, if variation between documents exists.
