About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is seeking a BC/BE Internal Medicine physician to join a thriving practice at the Marshfield Clinic – Menomonie Center in Menomonie, Wisconsin. This is a busy, 100% outpatient clinic practice where you will work with an experienced APP and support staff. The practice offers a flexible 4-day work week, with a nurse line as the first call. Physicians are part of a large call group, averaging two weeks of call annually, contributing to an excellent work-life balance, with support for job sharing. The organization strongly encourages physicians to be involved in medical education and research to continue building its strong foundation of patient care, research, and education.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Successful completion of an Internal Medicine residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
  • Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/ subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
  • Applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement.
  • Demonstrate active involvement of inpatient services to be at least 50 patients in the last 12 months.
  • Demonstrate active involvement in the care of 50 patients in clinical practice in the last 12 months.

Nice To Haves

  • Training at residency programs accredited by organizations other than the ACGME, AOA or Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada may be considered via the waiver of eligibility process as defined in the Credentialing Policy.
  • More education and experience may be required the more advanced the practice becomes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform history and physical examinations.
  • Admit patients (if applicable to the setting).
  • Evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultative services to adolescent and adult patients with common and complex illness, diseases and functional disorders of the circulatory, respiratory, endocrine, metabolic, musculoskeletal, hematopoietic, gastroenteric, and genitourinary systems.
