About The Position

This contract position offers an on-site working mode, perfect for physicians focused on delivering high-quality patient care in a collaborative medical environment. As a Physician - Hospitalist, you'll be integral in managing patient care, conducting rounds, and coordinating treatments while ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence. You will work closely with an experienced team to provide effective and timely medical interventions, thereby enhancing patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • 24-Hour Solo Coverage for a rural facility.
  • Work commitment of 12-15 hours with on-call responsibilities for the remainder of the shift, supported by an overnight Nocturnist.
  • Access to sleeping amenities either on-site or in proximity.
  • Emergency procedures required include: Emergent intubations, Ventilator management, Central line placements, Lumbar punctures, Paracentesis/Thoracentesis.
  • Coverage Dates: Orientation: July 9, Coverage Start: July 10, from 12:00 PM to July 15, ending at 12:00 PM.
  • Board Certification: Required. Board eligible candidates also considered.
  • ACLS: Required.
  • PALS: Required.
  • Start Time: 12:00 PM
  • Typical End Time: 12:00 PM
  • Final Day Handoff: Between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM
  • Orientation: Scheduled on weekdays, typically lasting 4 hours. If the first shift is a weekend, orientation will occur Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. For a weekday start, the provider must arrive by 8:00 AM for orientation.
  • Facility Size: 24 beds
  • Average Daily Census: Approximately 18
  • No dedicated ICU beds or model.
  • Transfer Time for Critical Patients: Approximately 1.5 hours to the nearest facility.
  • Support from Anesthesia and General Surgery is available.
  • No Advanced Practice Providers (APP) will be present.
  • EMR System: Cerner Community Work

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient rounds and manage daily care
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and specialists for optimal patient outcomes
  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations and create treatment plans
  • Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges
  • Provide timely and accurate documentation of patient care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Educate patients and families on medical conditions and treatment options
  • Stay current with best practices and updates in the medical field
