About The Position

West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and the Department of Neurology in the WVU School of Medicine are seeking a Headache Neurologist qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV. The WVU Headache Center has always excelled at pioneering new approaches to headache treatment and is part of several multi-center clinical trials exploring new treatments for headache disorders. With three fellowship-trained and certified headache specialists, the WVU Headache Center is the only comprehensive headache program in West Virginia. Physicians in the WVU Headache Center work closely with specialists in neurosurgery, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, psychiatry, pain medicine, and radiology to help treat headache disorders through medications, procedural interventions, changes in behavior and nutrition, and other approaches. In addition, our specialists have access to some of the world’s most advanced technology to assist with diagnosis and treatment planning to provide patients with the means to deal with acute headaches, such as migraine, so future occurrences can be relieved quickly. The WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute (RNI) is a comprehensive multidisciplinary patient care, education, and research institute providing neurological and mental healthcare through more than 300,000 visits annually. The 300+ physicians and scientists of the RNI improve lives by pioneering advances in neuroscience, brain health, and therapeutics. The RNI team uses the latest technologies with academic, government, and industry partners to make tangible progress to combat public health challenges ranging from addiction to Alzheimer’s disease. The Department of Neurology provides comprehensive, interdisciplinary care for epilepsy, stroke, movement disorders, brain injuries, headache disorders, multiple sclerosis, cancer, sleep medicine, neuromuscular disorders, and neurodegenerative conditions, such as Alzheimer’s disease. WVU is a Joint Commission approved Comprehensive Stroke Center and Level IV Epilepsy Center. Requirements

  • MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent.
  • Eligible for state medical licensure.
  • Completed a neurology residency program.
  • Completed a headache medicine fellowship.
  • Board certified in headache neurology.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

Responsibilities
