Requirements
- Doctorate MD/DO
- Physician License (DR) - State Licensing Board
- Board Certification in Specialty Discipline (or eligibility if appropriate)
- Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association
Responsibilities
- Ensure EMR charting and documentation are completed accurately, and patient records are up-to-date.
- Oversee the supervision of medical assistants, nursing staff, and other office staff in the context of clinical practice.
- Make diagnoses and decisions about the management and treatment of patients.
- Prescribe therapy or medication for the treatment of patient conditions.
- Administer or order diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interpret their results.
- Perform therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and infection management.
