About The Position

The West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medical Oncology are seeking a Hematologist/Oncologist for practice in Elkins, West Virginia. This role may involve providing services at additional worksites in West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania, requiring anticipated travel. The Elkins Corridor Medical Center is establishing new hematology and oncology services to enhance regional cancer care access, offering on-site evaluation and management for various hematologic and oncologic conditions, with infusion services available. The physician will be supported by the WVU Cancer Institute's network and clinical trials infrastructure, with opportunities for statewide collaboration. This is a chance to influence a developing program and significantly impact a medically underserved community.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent.
  • Eligible for state medical license.
  • Completed an Internal Medicine residency program.
  • Completed a Hematology/Oncology fellowship program.
  • Board certified / eligible in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of the appointment.

Responsibilities

  • Practice in the areas of Hematology/Oncology.
  • Provide excellent patient care.
  • Actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
