About The Position

This role involves collaborating with a team of Gastroenterologists and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to deliver patient care. The position is supported by a comprehensive team of healthcare professionals, including RNs, LPNs, MAs, pharmacists, and administrative staff. The department fosters a family-oriented, team-based culture that values workplace enjoyment and satisfaction, evidenced by notable staff and provider retention rates. On-call Physician Assistants are available seven days a week. The role utilizes an extensive inventory of gastroscopes and colonoscopes for procedures and benefits from dedicated outpatient support, including an office nurse and an Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) nurse. The position includes two dedicated office days per month, with the remainder of the time for procedural work. Access to a dedicated operating room block with anesthesia assistance, CRNA supervision, and 24/7 anesthesia support (including holidays) is provided. Endoscopy nursing and tech support are also available around the clock. The location is near reputable school districts.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be Board Certified or exceptionally Board Eligible in Cardiology, with the requirement to become certified within a 5-year period.
  • Active DEA registration is mandatory.
  • Current BLS Certification, with a commitment to maintaining recertification standards.
  • Required to maintain a clean malpractice history and active state license.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a team of Gastroenterologists and 6 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), fostering a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
  • Work within a supported team including Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Medical Assistants (MAs), pharmacists, and administrative staff.
  • Emphasize a family-oriented, team-based culture that prioritizes workplace enjoyment and satisfaction.
  • Utilize an extensive inventory of 190 gastroscopes and colonoscopes for outpatient and inpatient procedures.
  • Conduct two dedicated office days per month, with the remaining time allocated for procedural work.
  • Access and utilize a dedicated operating room block for inpatient procedures, complete with anesthesia assistance.
  • Provide CRNA supervision and benefit from 24/7 anesthesia support, inclusive of holiday coverage.
  • Leverage around-the-clock endoscopy nursing and tech support, including during holidays.
