About The Position

MSPB is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Gastroenterologist to join our team of dedicated specialists. The Gastroenterology Physician will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing disorders of the gastrointestinal tract in adult patients. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate, evidence-based care and contribute to the enhancement of our integrated healthcare delivery model. This role is critical in promoting digestive health and managing complex GI disorders while fostering strong provider-patient relationships and collaboration across specialties.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an accredited residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Gastroenterology
  • Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology
  • Possess and maintain an active Florida medical license (or ability to obtain)
  • Proficiency in performing endoscopic procedures (EGD, colonoscopy, etc.)
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Strong diagnostic, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent bedside manner and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to patient-centered care, quality improvement, and team-based practice
  • Demonstrates a high level of professionalism and ethical behavior
  • Compassionate, empathetic, and patient-focused
  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to work in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Strong communicator with the ability to explain complex medical information clearly
  • High level of accountability and dependability

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and manage patients with a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, including but not limited to GERD, IBD, IBS, liver disease, and colorectal cancer screening.
  • Conduct and interpret diagnostic procedures such as colonoscopies, endoscopies (EGD), and capsule endoscopy.
  • Prescribe and manage appropriate therapeutic regimens, including lifestyle counseling, medications, and follow-up care.
  • Collaborate with referring physicians, primary care providers, and other specialists to ensure continuity and integration of care.
  • Provide patient education on prevention, treatment plans, and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and comprehensive patient medical records.
  • Participate in shared on-call responsibilities, as applicable.
  • Stay informed of advancements in gastroenterology and participate in continued professional development.
