About The Position

Acclaim Health is seeking a full-time Physician (Faculty) for their Family Medicine Residency Program. This role involves providing comprehensive, evidence-based primary care to an assigned panel of adult and pediatric patients in an outpatient setting. The position requires active participation in resident precepting, including supervision of clinical encounters, chart review, and real-time feedback. Additionally, the faculty physician will provide formal and informal teaching to residents and medical students through case discussions, didactics, and bedside instruction, supporting the academic mission through curriculum development and program improvement. The role also includes coordinating multidisciplinary care, making referrals, and adhering to national and JPS Health Network guidelines. The physician will maintain a collaborative environment, participate in performance improvement initiatives, and serve as a clinical and educational resource to the community.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution
  • Completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency program
  • 2 years of experience working as an Advanced Practice Provider in Neurosurgery preferred.
  • Current, unrestricted medical license in the State of Texas (or eligible)
  • Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine
  • Unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be comfortable working in a large public/county facility
  • Strong clinical knowledge in Family Medicine across the lifespan (adult and pediatric populations).
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in medical education, teaching, or resident supervision.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and mentorship to learners at varying levels of training.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams and learners.
  • Ability to work effectively in a large public/county health system environment.
  • Self-directed with initiative to participate in community outreach and academic activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive, evidence-based primary care to an assigned panel of patients in an outpatient setting.
  • Coordinates the multidisciplinary care delivered to patients to optimize outcomes and patient experience.
  • Reviews patient medical records to diagnose, treat, and provide care management and education to patients and families.
  • Makes appropriate referrals to specialists and ancillary services.
  • Actively participates in resident precepting, including supervision of clinical encounters, chart review, and real-time feedback.
  • Provides formal and informal teaching to residents and medical students, including case discussions, didactics, and bedside instruction.
  • Supports the academic mission through engagement in curriculum development, evaluation, and continuous improvement of training programs.
  • Monitors and adheres to national health guidelines and those established by JPS Health Network and Acclaim Multispecialty Group.
  • Maintains a collaborative environment with physicians, residents, medical students, advanced practice professionals, and support staff.
  • Participates in performance improvement initiatives, peer review, and quality assurance activities.
  • Partners and communicates effectively to support a positive patient and community experience.
  • Serves as a clinical and educational resource to the community.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
