About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. This is an Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Core Privileges role which includes the ability to perform history and physical examination, admit (if applicable to the setting), and provide treatment or consultative services, evaluate, diagnose, and provide nonsurgical care for adult and adolescent patients presenting with illnesses, injuries, and disorders of the endocrine or metabolic system. The practice is established with a large referral base, offering no call and Monday-Friday clinic hours. It is an outpatient practice with inpatient consults, an infusion center, and software for downloading blood glucose meters/pumps. Professional continuous glucose monitor studies and FNA are performed in the facility. A Diabetes Educator is available, serving a population of 142,000 with an 118-bed hospital and a 14-bed ICU.

Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. degree
• Successful completion of an Internal Medicine residency program
• Successful completion of a fellowship in Endocrinology accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada
• Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/ subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable
• Applicants not board certified at the time of application but who have completed fellowship training within the last five years must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their fellowship training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement.
• Demonstrate active involvement of inpatient services to be at least 50 patients in the last 12 months.
• Demonstrate active involvement in the care of 50 patients in clinical practice in the last 12 months.

Nice To Haves

• Training at residency and fellowship programs accredited by organizations other than ACGME, AOA or Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada may be considered via the waiver of eligibility process as defined in the Credentialing Policy.
• Those applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their fellowship training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their fellowship training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement. (Refer to each entity’s policy for grandfather exceptions)

• Compensation floor of $400,000 for the first two years of the employment contract
• Potential to exceed compensation floor from personally performed wRVUs
• $75,000 retention incentive to be paid if you remain a 1.0 FTE for 3 years
