About The Position
We are seeking a physician to cover a few weekends a year for the Emergency Medicine department at Essentia Health – Ada, a Level IV Trauma Center with a 14-bed Critical Access hospital. The role involves 63.5-hour shifts, starting Friday at 4:30 PM and ending Monday at 8:00 AM. The average patient volume is 8-15 per weekend. Family Medicine physicians in Ada cover the Emergency Medicine department. The department is described as collegial and team-oriented. Clinical documentation is facilitated by EPIC DAX ambient voice. This is a casual position in Ada, MN.
Requirements
- BC/BE Emergency Medicine or BC/BE Family Medicine with experience (or additional training in EM)
- ACLS, ATLS/CALS, PALS Certification
Responsibilities
- Cover a few weekends a year
- Work 63.5-hour shifts (Friday 4:30 PM – Monday 8:00 AM)
- Manage an average of 8-15 patients per weekend
