About The Position

Ochsner Children's Hospital is seeking a Director of Pediatric Heart Failure/Heart Transplant physician, along with a second Pediatric Heart Failure/Heart Transplant physician, to join the only pediatric heart transplant center in Louisiana. This role involves the care of patients with cardiomyopathies, heart failure, transplant, congenital heart disease, and ventricular assist devices. The transplant team is well-supported by a dedicated physician assistant, two transplant coordinators, a transplant psychologist, a transplant social worker, and a transplant pharmacist. Ochsner is an active participant in PHTS and ACTION. The position offers opportunities for academic appointment, participation in research studies and multi-center trials, and teaching pediatric residents and medical students. Ochsner Children's is expanding with a new, dedicated Children's Hospital expected to open in 2028.

Requirements

  • BC/BE in pediatric cardiology
  • Completed an advanced fellowship in pediatric heart failure/heart transplant or minimum of 5 years of experience in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Care of patients with cardiomyopathies, heart failure, transplant, congenital heart disease, and ventricular assist devices.
  • Provide direct patient care.
  • Teach pediatric residents and medical students.
  • Participate in research studies and multi-center trials.
