About The Position

ConvenientMD is seeking a compassionate and experienced Physician Assistant/Associate (PA) to join their team as a Lead Provider. This role involves providing exceptional care, making a real impact on patients' lives within an urgent care clinic, and acting as a clinical leader for all clinical staff. The Lead Provider will mentor new-grad providers and allied healthcare professionals, fostering a collaborative environment and delivering high-quality care. A sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 is available for exceptional candidates.

Requirements

• Master's degree and certification by Physician Assistant (PA) certifying body.
• Must have and maintain a DEA license with no restrictions.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software and clinical management systems (EMR).
• Strong knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
• Strong knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Strong knowledge of relevant drugs and their chemical composition, structure, and properties.
• Strong knowledge of non-pharmaceutical patient care aids.
• Strong knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.

• Clinical experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or ambulatory care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct health assessments, physical exams, and review medical histories to address short- and long-term patient needs.
• Interview patients, perform physical examinations, and obtain, update, and study medical histories.
• Administer or order diagnostic tests (e.g., x-rays, electrocardiograms, laboratory studies) and interpret test results.
• Administer injections and immunizations, suture, and manage wounds and infections.
• Educate and counsel patients about their health, therapeutic regimens, family planning, and wellness.
• Prepare clear, complete, accurate, and legible medical records for each patient using EMR.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with company and state procedures.
• Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
• Comply with legal and professional requirements, including studying legislation and advising management on needed actions.
• Work collaboratively with other providers and health care practitioners to treat patients efficiently.
• Plan coordinated, efficient, and thoughtful patient dispositions, including transfers.
• Act as a clinic leader, providing support and mentorship to new-graduate providers and other clinic staff.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications, and participating in professional societies.
• Act as a preceptor to new provider staff, providing information, educational opportunities, and experiential growth opportunities.
