About The Position
St. Thomas Rheumatology Consultants is seeking a Physician Assistant to join its patient-focused rheumatology practice in Nashville, Tennessee. The practice provides care for individuals with autoimmune and musculoskeletal conditions and emphasizes compassion, professionalism, and collaboration. In this outpatient clinic role, the Physician Assistant will work with physicians and the care team to evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with rheumatologic conditions. The position includes direct patient care, support for infusion services, telemedicine visits, patient education, and follow-up. Physician supervision, training, and mentorship are provided.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current Tennessee PA license.
- NCCPA certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient evaluations, obtain histories, and conduct physical examinations.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Develop treatment and management plans under physician supervision.
- Educate patients about their conditions, medications, and therapies.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and staff to ensure coordinated care.
- Respond to patient calls and messages and address clinical concerns by phone or through the Patient Portal.
- Provide telemedicine visits while maintaining a high standard of care.
- Ensure appropriate patient follow-up.
