About The Position

The Physician Assistant- Hospitalist provides patient evaluation and care as an independent health care provider working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team. The position performs pertinent histories and physical examinations, assesses patient needs, and delivers appropriate treatment. It also provides nursing care and health teaching to an assigned group of adult and geriatric patients in an observation setting. Duties and responsibilities are performed according to the collaborative practice agreement required by the State of Florida.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Master of Science in Nursing (MS in nursing) required.
• Licensed by the State of Florida.
• Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice.
• Extensive knowledge of physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and management of acute and chronic patient problems.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and provide care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary health team.
• Perform pertinent patient histories and physical examinations.
• Assess patient needs and deliver appropriate treatment.
• Provide nursing care and health teaching to assigned adult and geriatric patients in an observation setting.
