About The Position
The job description describes a Nurse Practitioner working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team as an independent health care provider. The provider evaluates and cares for patients by obtaining pertinent histories, performing physical examinations, assessing needs, and delivering appropriate treatment. The role provides nursing care and health teaching to an assigned group of adult and geriatric patients in an observation setting. Duties and responsibilities are carried out according to the collaborative practice agreement required by the State of Florida.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Master of Science in nursing required.
- Licensed by the State of Florida.
- Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice.
- Extensive knowledge of physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and management of acute and chronic patient problems.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients through pertinent history and physical examination.
- Assess patient needs and deliver appropriate treatment.
- Provide nursing care to assigned adult and geriatric patients in an observation setting.
- Provide health teaching to assigned patients.
- Carry out duties according to the collaborative practice agreement required by the State of Florida.
