About The Position
OrthoArizona is seeking a Physician Assistant for a hand-focused role. The Physician Assistant maintains a patient treatment schedule aligned with the physician’s needs and provides clinical care, including patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, and continuity of care. The role also includes assigned on-call services and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
- Maintain an Arizona state license.
- Maintain CPR certification.
- Working knowledge of computer programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Complete and maintain HCP training.
- Understand and perform training on practice management software.
- Continue to expand knowledge of practice management software as updates occur.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures.
Nice To Haves
- Two years of Physician Assistant experience in a busy orthopedic practice.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a patient treatment schedule consistent with the physician’s needs.
- Obtain complete medical histories and physical data from patients.
- Review patient medical records.
- Interpret and integrate data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Perform complete physical examinations and record findings.
- Establish presumptive diagnoses.
- Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures and issue diagnostic orders.
- Administer injections and medications.
- Advise patients on health and illness prevention.
- Recommend community resources to address patient and family needs.
- Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment procedures.
- Assist physicians in recording patient progress.
- Triage patient phone calls.
- Monitor patients and provide continuity of care between physician visits.
- Provide on-call services on an assigned basis.
- Prioritize work activities based on clinical demands.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
