About The Position

UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals are consistently ranked among the nation's best children's hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. We have two main campuses serving children and their families, one in Oakland and one in San Francisco, as well as satellite locations throughout Northern California. Our dynamic, highly skilled Pediatric Trauma Surgery APP team provides comprehensive care for patients with all pediatric general surgical conditions and traumatic injuries. We value individuals who are professional with strong interpersonal and communication skills and able to prioritize and adapt to changing situations. Our pediatric surgery APPs manage patients collaboratively with the Pediatric Surgery service team including residents, fellows, and attendings. The Physician Assistant will act as a full member of the team taking responsibility for the safe delivery of care in collaboration with attending physicians, fellows and residents. This team member will meet productivity expectations as set forth by the Division Chief, performing any duties related to patient care activities that are appropriate and clearly delineated. Advanced Practice Providers on the Pediatric Trauma Surgery Team provide care in rotating 12h shifts.

Requirements

  • Professional with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to prioritize and adapt to changing situations.
  • Must be available and willing to work at least 4 weekend (Saturday or Sunday) or 4 night shifts, if applicable, per 8-week schedule.
  • Must be available to work one major UCSF holiday and one non-Major UCSF holiday per year (includes the holiday and the day before or after for a 2-day holiday period).
