About The Position

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a Physician Assistant - Otolaryngology to join the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. Kings County Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center serving Brooklyn and Staten Island, with an academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. This role involves conducting comprehensive patient evaluations in the ENT clinic, developing clinical assessments, initiating diagnostic workups, and coordinating referrals to ENT subspecialties. The position also includes participating in outpatient ENT subspecialty clinics, managing referrals, responding to patient communications, and participating in daily inpatient rounds with the ENT house-staff team. Collaboration with attending physicians, residents, nurses, and multidisciplinary team members is essential for providing high-quality, patient-centered otolaryngology care.

Requirements

• Current NYS registration as a Physician Assistant
• Current certification issued by the NCCPA
• DEA Certification

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations in the ENT clinic, including detailed medical histories and focused physical examinations.
• Develop clinical assessments, initiate appropriate diagnostic workups, and coordinate referrals to ENT subspecialties such as Facial Plastics, Head & Neck Oncology, Neuro-Otology, and related services.
• Participate in outpatient ENT subspecialty clinics evaluating patients, formulating treatment plans, and ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests as appropriate.
• Review and manage outpatient referrals, respond to patient calls and electronic messages, process prescription refills, and follow up on diagnostic test results during dedicated administrative time.
• Participate in daily inpatient rounds with the ENT house-staff team, documenting patient progress, updating medical records, writing orders and progress notes, and communicating significant changes in patient condition to the supervising physician.
• Collaborate closely with attending physicians, residents, nurses, and multidisciplinary team members to provide high-quality, patient-centered otolaryngology care.
