Physician Assistant - Interventional Radiology | Full-Time, Days (Brooklyn Campus)
About The Position
New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital is seeking a Physician Assistant for its Interventional Radiology practice. This role is full-time, with day shifts only, Monday through Friday. The PA will be a highly skilled clinician and respected colleague, working as part of a cohesive team to ensure the care and caring of patients and their families. The hospital boasts an advanced imaging center with state-of-the-art equipment. The IR PA will provide exceptional patient care before, during, and after procedures, assist physicians with various IR procedures, collaborate with a team of medical professionals, maintain accurate patient records, educate patients and families, participate in quality improvement initiatives, adhere to safety protocols, and demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning. Job duties will be split between inpatient and outpatient settings. All roles require on-site presence within a commutable distance to NYP.
Requirements
- Previous IR experience is required.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Physician Assistant related studies.
- NYS PA Licensure.
- Current NCCPA Certification.
- ACLS/BLS.
- NYS Infection Control certification.
- DEA Certification with NYS Opioid Prescriber training compliance.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional patient care before, during, and after procedures.
- Assist physicians in performing various IR procedures including angiograms, biopsies, drains, and vascular access.
- Collaborate with a team of medical professionals, including radiologists, nurses, and technologists, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Educate patients and their families regarding procedures, potential risks and benefits, and provide post-procedure care instructions.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay up-to-date on advanced interventional radiology.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a sterile environment during procedures.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth through attending trainings and conferences and staying current with licensure and certification requirements.
