About The Position

This role involves conducting comprehensive patient assessments, performing pre-procedural evaluations, and providing post-procedural care and monitoring. The Physician Assistant will manage patient care during interventional procedures under physician supervision, develop treatment plans, and educate patients and families. Responsibilities also include assisting with minimally invasive procedures, performing minor procedures independently as permitted, and maintaining sterile technique and radiation safety protocols.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Physician Assistant credentialed from the Tennessee Committee on Physicians Assistants obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program.
• 1 year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including history taking, physical examinations, and review of imaging studies
• Perform pre-procedural evaluations and obtain informed consent for interventional radiology procedures
• Provide post-procedural care and monitoring in recovery areas
• Manage patient care during interventional procedures under physician supervision
• Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the interventional radiology team
• Provide patient and family education regarding procedures, risks, benefits, and post-procedure care
• Assist with minimally invasive procedures
• Perform minor procedures independently as permitted by state regulations and institutional protocols
• Maintain sterile technique and radiation safety protocols
