About The Position

NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, with over 135 years of service to the Brooklyn community, is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant for its Emergency Department. This role is integral to delivering world-class, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The PA will collaborate with experienced physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and multidisciplinary specialists. The hospital is a designated Level II Trauma Center, a recognized New York State Stroke Center with 24/7 specialist support, and its team has received the American Stroke Association's Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Plus Achievement Award. This position offers broad procedural and clinical responsibilities within a dynamic practice.

Requirements

Minimum of 1–2 years of Emergency Department experience as a Physician Assistant
Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
Current New York State Physician Assistant License
Current NCCPA Certification
Current ACLS and BLS Certifications
New York State Infection Control Certification

Responsibilities

Participate in all aspects of emergency care, including patient assessment, triage, and management.
Provide emergency resuscitation and stabilization.
Manage Fast Track evaluation and treatment.
Perform emergency procedures, including intubation, chest tube insertion, central venous line placement, and other advanced bedside procedures.
Develop and implement treatment plans.
Provide patient education and discharge planning.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.
