About The Position

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree
  • Current board certification or board eligibility in the relevant specialty
  • Eligibility for Washington physician licensure
  • Current DEA registration when required
  • Relevant clinical experience
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and professional judgment
  • The ability to adapt to the needs of a rural healthcare environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Critical Access Hospitals, Rural Health Clinics, FQHCs, public hospital districts, or community healthcare organizations
  • Previous medical leadership experience for CMO, medical director, or physician executive roles
  • A patient-centered, team-focused, and community-minded approach

Responsibilities

  • Providing safe, high-quality, patient-centered medical care
  • Supporting continuity of care in rural and underserved communities
  • Participating in call, inpatient, outpatient, emergency, or procedural coverage
  • Providing short-term or per diem coverage during vacancies, leave, or increased demand
  • Supporting clinical quality, patient safety, and regulatory readiness
  • Collaborating with nursing, advanced practice providers, clinical teams, and operational leaders
  • Participating in medical staff leadership, peer review, credentialing, or governance
  • Helping develop or strengthen clinical programs and service lines
  • Mentoring physicians, advanced practice providers, and other clinicians
  • Supporting physician recruitment, retention, and engagement
  • Advising executive leadership and governing boards on clinical matters
  • Helping improve access, outcomes, and care coordination
  • Building trusted relationships with patients, families, employees, and community partners
