Physical Therapy Coder - Full Time

About The Position

DMOS is seeking a full-time Physical Therapy Coder to code Physical Therapy claims and support billing through research and denial work on claims the coder has coded. The coder will communicate with coding staff, providers, and leadership to answer questions about coding decisions. Following on-site training, the position is performed from home within Iowa; only remote workers located in Iowa can be accommodated. The position offers flexible hours, with stated hours of Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Requirements

Physical Therapy or claims coding experience is required for full-time at-home positions.
Ability to communicate calmly and provide professional support to providers or peers.
Ability to listen, ask clarifying questions, and avoid interrupting others.
Ability to work independently, focus, and recognize when to ask for help.

Responsibilities

Use coding knowledge to create accurate codes based on medical dictation and clinical documentation.
Review claims and make necessary adjustments before closing a case.
Support billing by researching claims and denials for claims the coder has coded.
Communicate with coding staff, providers, and leadership to answer questions related to how a claim was coded.
Work remotely as part of a small, close-knit team.
