About The Position

DMOS is seeking a full-time Physical Therapy Coder to code Physical Therapy claims and support billing research and denials for claims the coder handles. The coder communicates with coding staff, providers, and leadership to answer questions about how claims were coded. After on-site training, the position is performed remotely from within Iowa, with flexible hours. The listed schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. DMOS is a privately held medical facility and an established orthopedic practice in Iowa with more than 70 years of orthopedic care. Candidates who receive a conditional offer must complete criminal and federal background checks, education and reference verification, and an initial TB test.

Requirements

Physical Therapy or claims coding experience is required for full-time work-from-home positions.
Ability to communicate calmly and provide professional support to providers or peers.
Ability to listen, ask clarifying questions, and avoid interrupting others.
Ability to work independently, focus, and know when to ask for help.
Must work remotely from within the state of Iowa.

Responsibilities

Use coding knowledge to create accurate codes based on medical dictation and clinical documentation.
Review claims and make necessary adjustments before closing a case.
Support billing research and denials for claims coded.
Communicate with coding staff, providers, and leadership and answer questions about how claims were coded.
Work remotely as part of a small, close-knit team.
