Physical Therapy Assistant PRN
About The Position
As a Physical Therapy Assistant at HCA Florida West Hospital, you’ll provide individualized care to help patients restore mobility and independence. You’ll work with supervising physical therapists and the broader care team, following established processes and focusing on patient care. The role includes access to educational assistance, career growth opportunities, and scheduling flexibility. This is a PRN, per diem, as-needed position. HCA Florida West Hospital is a 515-bed facility offering a range of services, including cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, oncology, orthopedics, critical care, neurology and neurosurgery, and rehabilitative medicine. It is the area’s only comprehensive CARF-accredited physical rehabilitation hospital.
Requirements
- Associate degree.
- State-licensed Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
Responsibilities
- Deliver therapeutic exercises and functional training to help patients regain independence and mobility.
- Apply physical therapy techniques and modalities to reduce pain and restore function.
- Monitor patient progress and document responses to support safe, effective care.
- Teach patients and families how to use assistive devices and follow home exercise programs.
- Work with physical therapists, nurses, aides, and the care team to enhance the patient experience and support a culture of excellence.
