About The Position

Pinellas County Rehabilitation Hospital is hiring a PRN Physical Therapy Assistant. The assistant treats referred patients ages 18 through geriatric who have rehabilitation diagnoses or conditions requiring rehabilitation. The role assists with assessing patients’ medical conditions, functional capabilities, limitations, restrictions, and rehabilitation potential. Under the direction of a physician and physical therapist, the assistant administers treatment programs with specific goals tailored to patients’ capacity and tolerance. The assistant also educates patients and families about appropriate physical therapy methods. The hospital opened in May 2026 and has 36 private patient rooms and two rehabilitation therapy gyms equipped with cutting-edge technology. Pay is based on experience and qualifications.

Requirements

Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross; online certification is not acceptable.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
Detail-oriented and able to meet strict time frames.

Nice To Haves

Inpatient rehabilitation experience.
