About The Position

Requirements

Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) program.
Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA).

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with residents and healthcare team members.

Responsibilities

Assist physical therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans by guiding residents through therapeutic exercises and activities.
Contribute to the evaluation process by performing objective tests under the supervision of a physical therapist.
Assist with ordering and maintaining supplies as needed.
Alert the therapist to resident progress and any need to update or reevaluate the effectiveness of the treatment plan.
Communicate residents’ functional status and needs to residents, caregivers, and appropriate professionals.
Integrate therapy’s role into the interdisciplinary approach to treatment.
Educate residents and their families on exercises, safety precautions, and home care techniques to support recovery.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of resident progress, treatment sessions, and changes in condition using basic computer systems.
Monitor residents’ responses to therapy and adjust care plans under a physical therapist’s supervision.
Adhere to safety and infection-control protocols.
