About The Position
Amedisys, part of the Optum family of businesses, provides home health, hospice, and community-based services. The Physical Therapist provides skilled physical therapy services to patients in their homes to promote mobility, restore function, improve strength and balance, and enhance safety and independence. The role works collaboratively with patients, caregivers, and an interdisciplinary care team to support recovery, prevent hospitalizations, and improve quality of life in the home setting. This is a weekend Baylor day-shift role, with work on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Flexible scheduling options may be available. The position offers an annual salary range of $76,608 to $114,912 based on full-time employment. Compensation depends on factors such as local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. Benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements. Candidates must pass a drug test before beginning employment.
Requirements
- Current license to practice physical therapy in the state where assigned to work.
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy educational program as set by the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
- At least 1 year of related physical therapy experience for physical therapists entering home health care, to ensure sufficient knowledge and skills to safely provide services.
- If experience is less than 1 year, approval from regional clinical leaders and appropriate mentoring and/or participation in a residency program are required.
- Current CPR certification.
- Driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
- Must pass a drug test before beginning employment.
Responsibilities
- Help patients maintain, restore, and improve movement, activity, and function.
- Provide interventions, conduct reexaminations at least every 30 days, modify interventions as necessary, and perform discharge planning.
