About The Position

Amedisys, part of the Optum family of businesses, provides home health, hospice, and community-based services. The Physical Therapist provides skilled physical therapy services to patients in their homes to promote mobility, restore function, improve strength and balance, and enhance safety and independence. The role works collaboratively with patients, caregivers, and an interdisciplinary care team to support recovery, prevent hospitalizations, and improve quality of life in the home setting. The schedule is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, every weekend. The salary range is $76,608 to $114,912 annually based on full-time employment. Pay depends on factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. Candidates must pass a drug test before beginning employment.

Requirements

Current license to practice physical therapy in the state where assigned to work.
Graduation from an accredited physical therapy educational program as established by the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
At least 1 year of related physical therapy experience for PTs entering home health care to ensure knowledge and skills are sufficient to safely provide services. If experience is less than 1 year, approval from regional clinical leaders and appropriate mentoring and/or participation in a residency program are required.
Current CPR certification.
Must pass a drug test before beginning employment.

Responsibilities

Help patients maintain, restore, and improve movement, activity, and function.
Provide interventions, conduct reexaminations at least every 30 days, modify interventions as necessary, and perform discharge planning.
Perform other duties as assigned.
